How to cook tasty dinner from yesterday’s rice
Who is not familiar with such a situation when you look into a fridge and understand that from yesterday’s plenty of things you have only garnish left, and its large amount at that. And so that it won’t be wasted you have to build a supper from it in some way. Different casseroles springing to mind, but their cooking usually takes much time. And here, is it possible for half an hour? Easily!
- Boiled rice – 10-14 oz (300-400 g)
- Chicken fillet – 10-14 oz (300-400 g)
- Onion – 1 piece
- Carrot – 1 piece
- Tomatoes – 1-2 pieces
- Salt, pepper, spices to your taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
From yesterday you have left such a big bowl of boiled rice. And we are going to use it.
First step is to take up chicken fillet and cut it into strips as it goes. If the fillet is frozen simply defreeze it as you can: in a microwave, under stream of running water and so one, if only doing it as quick as possible. By the way, you don’t need to defreeze it up to the end as a bit frozen meat is easier to cut. In my case it was very frozen, so I got such equal straws.

Chop onion. As for me I have green onion, I simply found it in my fridge, but it doesn’t matter.
We put chicken fillet in a frying pan with pre-heated oil and mix it up well with a kitchen shovel so that pieces won’t stick together. We are cooking on rather good fire all the time.
When meat is a bit browned that’s in 5 minutes, we put onion and carrots into the frying pan and go on frying.
It is high time to add salt, pepper and spices you think are necessary. Salt it not being stingy taking into account the rice.
While everything is fried, carefully slice a tomato with a sharp knife.
When vegetables with meat are well browned, add sliced tomato and fry it all over for 3 minutes more.
Finally spread our yesterday’s rice into the frying pan.
We stir everything well and warm up for a few minutes, you may cover it. You can also salt and pepper it more if needed.
That’s all, bon appetite! Believe me this is very tasty.
- You may use any other meat instead chicken fillet, but this will take much more time. Definitely, you can add cut sweet pepper, boiled broccoli and other your favorite vegetables. And this will be your special supper.
