How to make refreshing shampoo for greasy hair
Industrial shampoos for greasy hair don’t solve the main head skin problem – excessive sebum secretion, so owners of such type of hair are doomed to wash head frequently. The shampoo with menthol and grapefruit essential oil not only refreshes head skin and hair, but also adjusts the work of sebaceous follicles allowing visibly extending the interval between procedures of washing hair. It’s very simple to make such a shampoo.
- Rosemary hydrosol – 2.19 oz (62 g)
- Shampoo base – 1.06 oz (30 g)
- Water-soluble macadamia oil – 0.10 oz (3 g)
- Crystalline menthol – 0.10 oz (3 g)
- Grapefruit essential oil – 0.03 oz (1 g)
- Optiphen plus preservative – 0.03 oz (1 g)
We add shampoo base to lightly pre-heated rosemary hydrosol and stir it carefully.
Menthol, added to the shampoo controls the production of sebum, refreshes hair and head skin, and allows keeping hair clean and fresh.
We fill water-soluble oil with menthol and place it on water bath, waiting for complete dilution of little crystals.
Pour the menthol dissolved in oil into hydrosol with shampoo base.
We stir it and add grapefruit essential oil. Grapefruit essential oil possesses delicate, fresh fragrance with a light bitterness, which ideally matches with invigorating coolness of the menthol. Besides, grapefruit essential oil has ability to control the work of head skin sebaceous follicles as well, reducing excessive greasiness of hair.
Be sure to add the preservative to the shampoo.
You may add a few drops of annatto extract so that the ready shampoo would have not only citrus flavor, but also its color.
We mix everything thoroughly one more time.
And pour the shampoo into previously prepared clean bottles.
Shampoo with menthol and grapefruit essential oil when being used regularly allows evidently reducing the greasiness of head skin and hair. Hair stay clean and fresh longer, the interval between washing hair increases.
- In summer you may increase menthol up to 4-5 %.
- You may also tint the shampoo in orange with sea buckthorn oil.
