How to cook tasty baked apples
Baked apples are one of my favorite home-made desserts. It is a dietetic dish, light for our stomach. You can cook it all year round enriching our meal variety with such a healthy for our body pectin. If to cook them applying the fantasy the baked apples can become a nice decoration of the festive table. In most cases I bake the apples filled with the cottage cheese.
- Apples (middle-sized) – 5 pieces
- Cottage cheese or soft cheese paste – 1 package
- Sugar at your taste
- Any filling: raisins, dried apricots, cinnamon, etc.
Wash the apples and cut out the top cone. It would be good if you manage to cut out the seeds but do not make the reach-through hole.
If you have the soft cheese paste, there is no need to add any extra ingredients in it. If you have the cottage cheese, let’s make the cheese paste by ourselves mixing the cottage cheese with tasty fillings. In my case these are vanillin, raisins and cinnamon that perfectly matches the taste of apples. This is cinnamon that colored the cottage cheese in a creamy color.
Fill the space of cones inside apples with the cheese paste.
Place the filled apples into the baking form and put it into the heated oven, 300 F (150 C), for 40 minutes.
The time of baking depends on the oven capacity and apple sort, that is why you need to check apples in the oven from time to time not to allow them turning into a mass. Bon appetite!
- If the cottage cheese is too lean, you may add some butter.
