How to cook rice noodles with the snake meat
The snake meat is exotic for us but it is a traditional meal in Asian countries. So the right way of cooing the snake meat would be using the ingredients that traditionally belong to Asian cuisine but may seem unusual for us. The very Asian ingredients will emphasize the taste of this specific meat. It is hard to imagine Italian pasta with the snake meat, but the roast snake with rice noodles is the perfect combination of meals.
- Rice noodles
- Snake meat
- Vegetables (carrots, sweet pepper, onion, garlic)
- Tomato paste
- Salt, spices
The original rice noodles contain in their composition only rice flour and water.
In the grocery store you may find rice noodles of various kinds: from the thinnest threads to the wide long strips. The middle-sized rice noodles are the most convenient type for cooking.
Prior to cooking, the rice noodles need to be soaked in cold water for 10-15 minutes.
After this procedure the hard and tough noodles turn softer. You may break long strips into several parts before you get them soaked.
We have already described in details how to cook the roast snake. At first we roast the garlic on the frying pan with the heated olive oil, then we join vegetables. After vegetables are roasted we put previously boiled pieces of the snake meat. Add some salt and spices (curry, ginger, red pepper etc.)
We roast the meat, add a little water and some tomato paste, and put rice noodles together with the snake meat and vegetables. Stir all the ingredients and simmer the mixture on a slow fire within 20 minutes.
Rice noodles perfectly match the snake meat. The result is a very appetizing, rich dish with low calorie content.
- The rice noodles are quite tasteless by themselves but you can make their taste richer and brighter by adding some spices and lemon juice.
