Quick and easy way to peel a pomegranate
All my previous attempts to peel and deseed pomegranates usually resulted in my hands covered with pomegranate juice and the table cloth decorated with bright scarlet spots. In addition to that, the most of the seeds were spoilt. Now I know a very quick and easy way to peel the pomegranate. Besides, all the seeds remain in good condition and my hands – clean. With great pleasure I share it with you.
- Sharp pointed knife
Make a round cut under the top (the crown) of the pomegranate. Don’t cut deep, only the peeling.
Holding the crown, take off the cover of the fruit.
The section clearly shows internal borders of the fruit. Following each of them make the cuts from the top to the bottom. Cut only the peeling.
Then put the knife into the middle of the pomegranate.
Now start turning the knife around its axis.
The fruit falls into several pieces.
- Usually at this step I begin to eat the fruit. However, if you need to get the seeds for a salad, take a bowl and tape the pomegranate a little above it. The seeds will fall down undamaged.
