What is more, preparing this drinkis as easy as an apple pie, and it tastes nice. I opted for this recipe exclusively because I suddenly had my pressure risen and my hemoglobin fallen after moving to another country. Now I make the drink not only for my health’s sake, but just because it’s really delicious (and my folks enjoy it). It is made in a wink without any troubles. It is desirable to take the beet grown up somewhere in a summer cottage or in a kitchen garden. As for the honey, you’d better buy it from the people you can rely on.

You´ll need

  • A thoroughly washed beet
  • Some honey
  • Clean filtered water
  • A saucepan

    Fill the saucepan with water and put the beet into it (I’ve cut mine in two because it was too long for the saucepan). Boil it for 30-40 minutes. You have to pour exactly as much water as it is needed to cover the beet entirely.

    Get the cooked beet out (later you can simply eat it with some olive oil or use it in a salad). As a result you get such a beet liquid.

    Then pour the hot drink into glass and add a half flat tea spoon of honey to it. But you should remember that honey loses its useful characteristics at the temperature that surpasses 140 F degrees (60 C), so don’t go too far with it. I always take a glass of the hot newly made drink about half an hour before meals, but it’s not a must, you can take it after meals if your stomach treats it better this way.

    As for the remains of beet brew in the jar, I cover it with a napkin or with food plastic and then I put the cover on (but not tightly). After that I put it in the fridge till the next intake.

Warnings

  • Don’t take the remains of the drink cold. You should pour some in a glass and let it infuse until it becomes of indoor temperature. If there is no time to wait, I do the following: I pour just a bit of boiling water into the glass and add a tea spoon of honey and mix it all up.
  • This product is not the one can be kept for a long time. It can stay in the fridge for 2-3 days at most.
