How to clean the chamois shoes easily
There are numerous ways to clean chamois shoes: from the expensive and medium priced store bought cleaning agents to the simple ammonia and vinegar. But these aids are more suitable in case if the shoes have already become extremely dirty. But what shall we do if they have just got a bit dusty? That is what happened to my favorite half-boots of light chamois. I was told a nice method to clean chamois shoes simply and without soaking them (which is ruinous for chamois leather) and without spending too much money for this operation.
- A clothes cleaning roller
This is how my chamois shoes look like after a week of wearing. This time I even contrived to soak them, you can see the light traces of water.
Take the clothes cleaning roller and start cleaning the chamois with it.
1. You’d better do it against the pile, but I actually have no idea of what is against the pile and what is with the pile in such a situation. That’s why I clean as I manage to.
You will have the paper of the roller soiled very quickly, so tear the dirty stripes off from time to time.
Here you go. Though the shoes definitively don’t look like the new ones, nevertheless they’ve become more decent then they used to be before cleaning.
- Such cleaning is useless in case of ingrained dirt and dust. Anyway, the chamois shoes need more considerable cleaning with the help of shop stored agents for chamois cleaning.
