How to cook mushroom baskets with pomegranate
The holiday table menu should not only include delicious dishes, but also the nice-looking ones. The bright and appetizing mushroom baskets with pomegranate can make a perfect decoration of your holiday table. The combination of the fried mushrooms and pomegranate is quiet unusual, but tasty. Moreover, you don’t need much time to make these baskets.
- White mushrooms (the fresh or dried ones)
- Sunflower oil
- Spices and salt
- Waffle baskets or tartlets
First soak, wash and boil the dried mushrooms. If they are fresh, wash them thoroughly and then boil them.
Fry the boiled mushrooms in the sunflower oil, add the chopped onion, salt and spices.
Put the fried mushrooms into the baskets.
Pour mayonnaise on the mushrooms and spread the pomegranate seeds on them.
The pomegranate is very well combined not only with meat dishes, but also with mushroom ones. It decorates the baskets and emphasizes the taste of the white mushrooms.
Certainly, you will get more delicious baskets if you put the mushrooms into the tartlets of the shortcrust pastry. But waffle baskets are also good.
- I tried to make these baskets with champignons I bought in a shop – they are quite tasty too, but I didn’t feel that rich mushroom taste and flavor as white mushrooms have.
