How to make dough for pizza
Someone thinks that cheese is the most important ingredient in pizza, somebody is persuaded that pizza is not pizza without tomatoes. To my mind, it is impossible to cook a delicious pizza without the “right” dough. Having tried numerous recipes of the pizza dough, I have chosen this one. You will get thin, tender and airy shortcakes with the crispy edges.
- Flour – 17.5 oz (500 g)
- Fast-acting dry yeast – 0.25 oz (7 g)
- Water – 10.5 oz (300 g)
- Olive oil – 1.4 oz (40 g)
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
Sift the flour, add the yeast and salt to it, pour the oil and warm water. Mix it all well.
At first the dough will be rough and a bit lumpy. It is necessary to stir it until it becomes homogeneous and flexible.
Cover the bowl of dough with a napkin and put it into a warm place for 1 hour. This time will be enough to let the dough rise more than twice.
Knead the dough and put it on a pan for baking. You will get a very flexible dough, so, it is not necessary to roll out with a rolling pin, you can just stretch it with your hands. To get a thin pizza, the dough shouldn’t be more than 0.2 inches (0.5 cm) thick.
Spread any stuffing on the dough and bake it in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes.
The ready pizza can be wrapped into a food wrap and refrigerated. If you heat in a microwave oven, it will taste exactly like a freshly prepared one.
- The dough prepared according to this recipe will be enough for two big pizzas.
