How to clean the washing machine from fungus
I am renting a flat with a washing machine that is often spoiled with fungus. I have found some ways to get rid of it on the Internet. All of them come to treating the inner part of the machine with cleansers that contain chlorine. At first I was only using “Domestos” for this purpose, and then I understood that all modern cleansers gave the same effect. That is why I clean it with a liquid cleanser that I have near at hand at the moment.
- Liquid cleanser (it is desirable to include chlorine)
- 2 household napkins or sponges that can be thrown away after using
- Tight household gloves
You can’t detect the fungus in your washing machine immediately, as it doesn’t influence the work of the machine. The washed things have the smell of the washing powder, but, if you leave your machine with the closed door for some time, you will feel an unpleasant smell. Moreover, as soon as you remove the rubber, you can see such a nasty sight.
Check it with a napkin. The result is obvious, you have to clean the washing machine.
First, just clean the mud from the rubber gasket with a napkin.
After that, as I have already mentioned, take any cleanser and spread it all over the rubber as far as you can reach to.
Then spread the cleanser over the folds of the rubber gasket carefully.
Shut the door of the machine and leave it for 2 hours or so.
When the time is over, turn the rinsing mode on and rinse the cleanser out of the washing machine. It is enough, the control napkin is clean.
- Thus it is advisable to clean the washing machine at least once a year.
