How to cook party snack with processed cheese and sweet pepper
Well-known snack salad with processed cheese, boiled eggs, mayonnaise and garlic can be turned into rich party dish by adding sweet pepper to it. Sweet pepper gives not only delicious look to this light salad but also richness.
- Processed cheese – 2 pieces
- Boiled eggs – 2 items
- Sweet pepper
So to prepare a filling we grate processed cheese on a big grater, dice boiled eggs (1 egg for 1 piece of cheese). If you preliminarily put processed cheese for 15-20 minutes into a freezer it will be easier to grate. We add mayonnaise – you don’t need it too much so that egg-and-cheese mass won’t be too watery.
We add crushed garlic, mixing everything well.
You may stuff sweet pepper with ready-made mass. But you should cut off fruit stem and remove seeds from pepper first.
We fill pepper with mass of salad as densely as possible and put it in freezer.
When the pepper becomes a little bit hard (you shouldn’t allow freezing), we slice it into ringlets of about 1/2 inches (1 cm) each. We can put the ready snack on washed and dried out leaves of lettuce, it will look very nice.
You may put egg-and-cheese mixture into portioned baskets or tartlets and sprinkle with finely chopped sweet pepper. It also looks nice and no less tasty.
- It’s desirable to choose narrow sweet pepper or such which looks like a flower (with longitudinal constrictions) when cut in half, so that the salad won’t fall out from it during cutting.
