How to make omelet with broccoli
Omelet – is such a wonderful dish, which may be cooked with anything you like: herbs, cheese, sausage, meat or simply with “anything you’ll find in your fridge”. Why not to take healthy, but still not very widely-used broccoli cabbage as a filling? I’ve tried and I liked this ready dish very much. The recipe is not difficult at all, and such omelet will be perfect for a useful breakfast.
- 2 eggs
- ¼ glass of milk
- Small head of broccoli – 7-10 oz (200-300 g)
- 2 cloves of garlic
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt, pepper to your taste
- Frying pan with cover
At first you need to cook broccoli. I bought rather big broccoli head, so cut off the half to make an omelet with it. The second half will perfectly wait in the fridge for another convenient time.
We divide the head of cabbage into blossom clusters, cutting large in halves.
We pour water in a saucepan, let it boil and salt it.
We put broccoli blossom clusters into boiling salted water.
We cook broccoli for 2-3 minutes. Then we take the contents of the saucepan in a colander and we at once wash well the broccoli with cold water. It helps to preserve its bright green color and to be crunchy.
Our cabbage is ready.
Now we mix up eggs, milk, salt and pepper.
We whisk all this as for common omelet.
We heat up a little vegetable oil in a frying pan, put out crushed garlic and broccoli blossom clusters in it.
Not frying broccoli, we pour out egg-and-milk mixture into the frying pan at once.
We cover the frying pan with a cover and fry omelet till it’s cooked.
That’s all, as simple and useful dish is ready. Bon appétit!
- You may add grated cheese, any kind of herbs or spices to omelet up to your taste.
