How to make meat rolls with cheese
This dish can’t be called simple at all, but the result is worth our time and efforts spent. You may eat small meat rolls both hot and cold, may be served for dinner or holiday meal, on the whole, it’s rather versatile dish. The dish doesn’t require following the recipe very precise. It’s better to use pork fillet for cooking, but any other kind of meat will do for it. You may also modify the filling up to your taste.
- Pork – 2.20 lb (1 kg)
- Mayonnaise – 1 tbsp
- Mustard – 1 tbsp
- Hard cheese – 3.5 oz (100 g)
- Garlic – 4-5 cloves
- Salt, ground pepper to your taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
We slice meat into medallions of about 1/2 inches (1 cm) thickness each. It’s better to slice thinner than thicker. It is more convenient to slice slightly frozen meat.
We hammer meat from both sides as for chops. If we get big pieces, cut them in half.
We prepare the sauce: mayonnaise, mustard and crushed garlic. Despite common mustard I also added a little bit of French mustard. We mix everything up well.
We add salt and pepper to our taste in meat pieces.
We carefully smear every piece with mixture of mayonnaise and mustard. Here it’s important not to put anything spare. And we put a small oblong piece of any kind of hard cheese.
We roll piece of meat in a roll and skewer it with one or two toothpicks.
We fry our rolls on vegetable oil.
We are frying on both sides so that they become brown. If the cheese runs out this won’t spoil the dish.
Then we put our fried rolls into a saucepan and pour a little water into it. So much that they won’t slightly burn while being stewed.
We stew covered meat rolls on a small heat for half an hour.
That’s all, gentle spicy meat is ready. Enjoy your meal!
- There are two important points in cooking meat rolls. First, you should put small amount of mayonnaise-mustard sauce so that it won’t squeeze out when rolls are wrapped. And second, you should manage to wrap them in such a way that no cheese is seen. If it’s necessary, you may use two toothpicks. But at any case you won’t be able to spoil the dish, meat rolls still turn out to be very tasty.
