But when he arrived, I discovered that with love and affection I could do anything impossible. I began to search about easy crafts that I could do together with my grandson in the Internet and I found out that one of the best and interesting projects that we could do together is sculpt with play dough. So today we are going to sculpt a funny cow made of colorful plasticine. You may not be impressed that it is not a real work of art but this will absolutely make your baby happy upon seeing his new toy. You don’t need to have any special skills to make this cow out of clay but all you need is patience and a few of time to learn.

First we will use white play dough; roll these into two balls. The diameter of the ball may be up to you but use only a quarter of the existing clay that color. You will still need to use the rest for the other parts of the clay cow. Insert a match into one of the balls as shown on picture.

Warnings

  • If you are using a box of a play dough with a small pieces, it may be difficult to calculate how much dough of one color you can use for creating head. It will sometimes happen that you don’t have enough clay. This is exactly what happened to me so I did not have white plasticine for the tail. I made this yellow instead. So it’s always better to estimate how much clay of exact color you really need for each part of your handicraft. Good luck!

What an awesome cow you’ve made! I think your grandson will have more fun with it than with those Chinese toys. Thank you for this precise instruction!
