Introduction

How to assemble a CoolerMaster NotePal U3 Laptop Cooling Pad

I bought this stand the first time and I have just assembled this for the first time. Taking into account that i have no technique knowledge, i would prefer to have more detailed instruction than one provided by manufacturer. I’ve managed that task gradually, but i’d like to share my experiences and impressions  with those who have no technical capabilities like me. Although I have assembled a specific model, but the same principles are applied for the majority of laptop’s cooling pad models.

You´ll need

  • Parts for assembling
  • Any, even the clumsy hands

The CoolerMaster will arrive unassembled: it comes with a standalone aluminum frame, and underneath the frame are three separate fans which are neatly packaged. The main problem of this model is how to properly insert the fan in the frame.

Choosing an ideal place to install the fans may depend on what area of the computer system is overheating. One of the main advantages of this model is the versatility. You can choose where to place the fans and to rearrange them easily.

The wires that are used to connect the fans to a power supply is not very long, so the lack of positions to fix are present. All in all you may place it in a row only.

The fans come with clips so you can install them in a snap. Each has four small feet, which should fit in the holes of the stand.

Placing the small feet into the holes is very easy, you simply push a lever to thread the legs into the holes and then release the lever securing the legs.

The next step is to secure the wires to the aluminum frame with a plastic clip.

Remember that these fans are connected to the computer via USB, and you need to choose the right side of the laptop where there is a free port or a few connections are placed. I myself have not considered this when I assembled the fans and then had to rearrange when it was time to connect the fans in an empty USB port.

    Now you are done!

Set the laptop on top of the frame. The top and bottom of the frame stand has rubber pads that are good at keeping the laptop on an inclined position.

Plug the connector into the USB port, you will hear a faint sound of the fans running.

However my mastering of the cooling pad didn’t over yet on this step, because it has such one more accessory in a complete set, this is a wide elastic band. This is to ensure that the stand can be easily carried around with the laptop.

Ensure that the laptop is positioned directly over the pad fans.

Put your laptop on the broad taut rubber band to secure it. Everything is ready. Frankly, this is too heavy and uncomfortable to use. The rubber strip may become the handle of the fan but still a carrying bag is still much more convenient.

Warnings

  • Stand CoolerMaster NotePal U3 is designed for 17-19″ notebooks. My Dell laptop has a diagonal of 15″, but it is still well inclined thanks to the rubberized lining. Here are some photos I would like to share as a week has passed after I bought the fan. Actually, my main objective has been achieved; my laptop does not overheat. As far as the operating temperature is concerned, I may not be able to specifically measure but the laptop is slightly warm, but not scorching hot as it was before. The stand is a little noisy, but it is fine. The noise quiets down when I turn them off as my laptop starts to cool down.

Your article is actual for me, because I often keep my lap top on the lap. When it heats, I feel uncomfortable. Maybe this thing will make my lap top more agreeable to work on.
