How to make chocolate effervescent bath pralines
Effervescent bath pralines are very good “hybrid” oil bars and bath geysers. They are fast and easy to make. After using chocolate praline, skin becomes so soft and gentle; no need to use any moisturizing or nourishing cream and body lotion.
- Shea butter - 0.71 oz (20 g.)
- Cocoa butter - 0.71 oz (20 g.)
- Sweet almond oil - 1.06 oz (30 g.)
- Cocoa mass - 1.41 oz (40 g.)
- Polysorbate-80 - 0.35 oz (10 g.)
- Baking soda - 3.53 oz (100 g.)
- Citric acid - 1.76 oz (50 g.)
- Absolute vanilla - 5 drops
Weigh oils and grated cocoa. Put them in a water bath until they melt.
Add Polysorbate-80 in the melted oil mixture. This helps the oil to be evenly distributed in the water and prevent the oil traces to come out on the bath walls.
Chocolate pralines are very fragrant and has rich chocolate flavor. You may also add any essential oils which combines well with this scent (in our case this is an absolute vanilla).
Mix the citric acid and baking soda. Water will launch the reaction between them and praline will fizz and seethe.
Add baking soda with a citric acid in the oil mixture. Mix them fast and thoroughly.
You should act fast because the chocolate mass will start to rise like yeast dough.
Spread out the chocolate mass in a paper molds used for baking and immediately put them into the refrigerator. With the temperature lowering, a reaction will stop and praline stops growing thereafter.
If you like, design the pralines with chocolate crumbs, bath beads or confectionery decorations.
We have used confectionery decorations such as sugar figurines. They, along with praline, can easily be dissolved in hot water.
Submerge 1-2 pralines in a bath filled with warm water. As the pralines slowly whistle, it will be dissolved, releasing the oil, which can be used for skin care. After taking a bath, dry yourself with a towel, but don’t rub the body, it’s not necessary. Your body skin will be gentle and soft enough, even without using lotion or cream.
- Citric acid should be pre-grinded using coffee grinder.
