How to prepare creamy sauce with chicken and mushrooms
One of my favourite dishes is chicken and mushroom. This type of dish can be prepared as a side dish and served with virtually any kind of food. This meal can be prepared without efforts. Ingredients required for this dish will not take a lot of time in order to get ready. Perhaps the only things which you need to purchase in advance are mushrooms and chicken.
- Fresh mushrooms (champignons for example) – 7 oz (200 g.)
- Parsley or dill greens
- Chicken breast
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Flour – 1 tbsp
- Onion – 1 piece
- Cream or milk – 7 oz (200 g.)
- Vegetable oil
Start by cooking the chicken breast.
Wash the chicken and remove the bones. Thereafter, cut it into small cubes. You may slice chicken without removing the skin.
The mushrooms also require cleaning before cooking. Rinse them using cold water and cut into small pieces.
Peel the onions and cut into pieces.
Preheat the pan greased with vegetable oil, then spread the onion into it and fry until semi-transparent condition.
Add the chicken into the frying pan containing the onions and continue stirring until light brown colour.
Add the mushrooms into the frying pan and simmer until all liquid has evaporated.
Add a little bit of flour as well as salt and pepper to enhance the taste. Stir the mixture and simmer for about more 3-5 minutes.
Heat the cream (or milk) in a different bowl and add to the frying pan. Keep stirring while adding the cream in order to prevent lumps formation. Reduce the heat and keep simmering until ready.
Meanwhile wash the greens and chop it into the small pieces.
Thereafter, add chopped greens when the sauce is almost ready.
If you feel that the sauce is undersalted, it’s the best moment to add more. You can serve the sauce with either mashed potatoes or pasta. Enjoy your dish.
- In case you are using cream rather than milk, then there is no need to add flour since the cream is enough to give it a dense look.
- You can also enhance the taste by adding butter when the sauce is ready
