Buy a celery. Pay attention that you are buying fresh, not dried up celery or vegetable that is beginning to rot.
Look at this picture, that’s a good one.
Cut off the top part and use for cooking or whatever. We need the basis just like a root part.
It has to be healthy which means it does not have any decaying spots.
Use a little bowl, and put in the middle the root part. Add water so that it is 0.2 inches (0.5 cm) from bottom.
Put this bowl in a warm and light place, avoid the direct beams of the sun. Change water daily. Cuts on the stalks will dry up and this is quite normal.
If everything goes well, in 4-6 days fresh leaves of a celery will appear, and from a reverse side roots will start growing.
Here it is. When the roots appear you may now plant it in soil.
Fill a flowerpot with soil – if you took a soil from your garden, make sure to add little sand or vermiculite for friability. Don’t forget and about the pot’s drainage, you may use small stones or clayite. Plant the root part so that the old cut-off part is completely hidden in the soil, but the green part is over the soil. Water this pot and put in a warm and light place.
