How to make an origami sailboat
The word “origami” when translated from Japanese means “folded paper.” This art of paper folding began in ancient Japan not in China as most people think. This is paper art that simultaneously appeared after the invention of paper. Today we continue the tradition of origami by making this paper sailboat.
- Sheet of paper.
- Scissors, ruler, pencil.
Take a basic form of “double triangle“.
Fold the upper portion of the triangle, align top point of the triangle with its base and mark the fold line.
Bend the top part of a triangle inside of it accordingly fold line.
Turn over one “page” and get a figure of a boat, with three protruding corners.
Pull the middle part up. This is the sailboat’s sail.
Bend to the right corners and mark the fold line.
Now bend corners inside of the figure on two sides.
Make a bend along the entire length of the bottom part of the sailboat and place the bent area inside of the sailboat as shown on picture.
Open the sailboat and now it is ready to sail.
