How to cook pork rolls with prunes
Prunes gives the meat a sweet taste and also makes pork juicier. Pork rolls are prepared with just the same amount of time as pork chops.
- Pork – neck or tenderloin – 1 lb. (500 g.)
- Salt, spices – to taste
- Prunes – 7-8 large pieces
Meat (preferably flat oblong shaped) should be washed carefully and dried. Cut into pieces. The thickness of each cut should be no more than 0.2 inches (0.5 cm). The thinner the better. If any pieces are too thick, the taste will not be flavorful enough, so you need to beat em a little.
Season with salt to taste.
Prunes must be washed by flowing water, then put in a small bowl and pour with boiled water. Leave for 10-15 minutes. Pour out the water and fill it again. Then cut prunes in a half.
Put sliced prunes on a piece of pork, roll the piece with the prunes inside. If meat pieces is thin enough, you have no needs to put additional holders on rolls.
Put the rolls seam side down in a baking dish, line the dish first with foil. You can also add spices (for example ground black pepper).
Place in an oven for half an hour. Remove from the oven when done. Enjoy your meal!
- You may also prepare prune sauce in addition to rolls. Fry chopped onions and mix with prunes, whip this in a blender. Stew for about 10 minutes, then add salt and cream and bring to a boil.
